Beneficiary Rural Church

Klo Akwapem Church of Christ

Klo Akwapem Church of Christ is located in a community called Klo Akwapem in the Yilo krobo of Eastern region.

The church was established by the Somanya church of Christ in the year 1993 and started with a membership of twenty-four (24).

Currently, the church has an average membership of about twenty-six (26) of which eight (8) are adults, one (1) is aged, ten (10) are youth and about seven (7) are children.

The church does not have a permanent place of worship. We fellowship in a structure.

The weekly giving of the church on Sundays is around thirty Ghana cedis (GHC30)

Most of the youth have left for the cities. This phenomenon of continuous migration of the youth to the cities is affecting the growth of the church.

My name is Philip Okunor, aged sixty (60), married with children and I am the preacher for Klo Akwapem Church of Christ since 2000.

The financial position of the church is very weak and therefore unable to support the preacher financially. This is why I applied for support from the Rescue Ghana Mission.

I have been on Rescue Ghana Mission (RGM) support from 2016 to date. I have been receiving monthly top-up allowance which supports me as I lead the church in such a poor and deprived community.

I appreciate the support I receive from the Rescue Ghana Mission on monthly basis.

It has been helpful to me because, without it, things would have been very difficult for me and my family.

I will like to thank the managers of Rescue Ghana Mission for such an initiative and more especially to all who donate in cash and kind to support rural preachers like me. God bless you.

Thank you.
